Welcome

Healthy Horses Conference at UF College of Veterinary Medicine
Amanda M. House, DVM, DACVIM

Welcome to the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine’s 9th Annual Healthy Horses Conference on FRIDAY, July 7, 2017!  The response to last year’s new month and day was very positive; therefore, we will again hold this conference on a Friday in July!  Healthy Horses is an educational day with a focus on successful equine health care.  The day includes lectures, lunch and live equine demonstrations.  This year’s topics will include deworming, lameness, pythiosis, melanoma, and caring for the senior horse – just to name a few.  The program will be completed in March, so that we can provide you the most up to date topics and information.  We will also feature tours and a high speed treadmill demonstration.  The presenters will predominantly be the board certified faculty of UF’s Large Animal Hospital, and a brief summary folder of the lectures will be provided to all attendees.  The University of Florida is dedicated to improving owner education and we hope you will make this an annual event.  It is a wonderful opportunity to see our hospital facility and meet veterinarians from all of our services.  Plenty of time for questions will be provided.  Registration is limited and can be completed here online, so please register soon!  Please be sure to also visit our other website for additional equine event information at http://extension.vetmed.ufl.edu/equine-extension/equine-veterinary-extension-programs/.  We hope to see you in July!!

Sincerely,
