St. Augustine, FL

We will be heading to the east coast of Florida to spend a day in historic St. Augustine, FL and review the conference findings. We will start the day off with a private narrated Trolley Tour of Historic St. Augustine.  Then on to the Government House to discuss the conference findings and enjoy some lunch.  After the meeting attendees will have a couple hours of free time to explore Historic Downtown St. Augustine.

Pre-registration for this fieldtrip is required and the cost is $60.00 per person. The cost covers the bus, trolley tour, and lunch. Attendees will be picked up at the Holiday Inn and Hampton Inn and dropped back off at their hotel. Specific times will be given at a later date. 

 


 

 

 Cedar Key, FL

On Sunday we will be heading to the west coast of Florida to Cedar Key to learn about the local clam aquaculture facilities. We will meet with a University of Florida clam aquaculture specialist at the Florida Fish and WIldlife Conservation Commission's Kirkpatrick Marine Laboratory who does research pertaining to shellfish aquaculture. If you would like to learn more about University of Florida's Shellfish Aquaculture program you can visit their website: https://shellfish.ifas.ufl.edu/index.html.  After the session we will head down near the water for lunch which will include local clams and a variety of other seafood.  Attendees will then have time to explore the Cedar Key area.
