Pre-Conference Workshop "Melioidosis 101"
Given the emergence of melioidosis in countries where health care workers are either unaware of the disease or where it is mis- or underdiagnosed, the 8th WMC Organizing Committee has decided to offer a pre-conference workshop that emphasizes on clinical awareness, clinical presentation, diagnostics and therapy (Table). The workshop will be directed by Dr. Wirongrong Chierakul, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand, and be held in the conference venue (Radisson Blue Hotel) on August 6th and 7th, 2016. There will be a separate $200 registration fee (accommodation not included) for attending this workshop, which the conference organizers hope to able to offset with stipends for attendees from resource poor settings. We expect a limit of 30-50 workshop attendees.
