Due to limited space, authors submitting and presenting on more than one abstract may have one of those abstracts rejected. To submit an abstract to the 10thNorth American Paleontological Convention hosted by the Florida Museum of Natural History, please use the following PDF form: NAPC Abstract Submission Form

Information for filling out the abstract form:

Please fill out the form completely (see example form below). All fields are mandatory and must be filled out for a submission to be valid. The name of the presenter on the abstract form is assumed to be the contact person for the abstract. Please make certain the presenter’s email is typed correctly so that symposia reviewers can contact presenters with acceptances. All three preferences for sessions must be selected otherwise the abstract may not receive full consideration. Please enter at least three keywords. Keywords will be used to help organize talks by topics within sessions. Select your presentation preference. The session reviewers will do their best to accommodate presenters’ preferences for talks or posters. Presenters will be notified by email if their presentation preference for talk or poster cannot be met. Students wishing to have their presentations considered for Student Awards must be the first author and presenter on their submitted abstract.

In order to change the typeface in the title and abstract body, you can use HTML tags (see below). Note that the tags will NOT change the font in the PDF form itself. The HTML tags will be used to convert typeface during the preparation of the NAPC Program and NAPC Abstract Book after your form has been uploaded and submitted. The title is limited to 250 characters (including spaces and HTML tags). Please do not use a “period” at the end of the title. In the list of authors section, please list all authors’ first (given) and last (surname) names including the presenting author; middle initial (MI) is optional. Do not put a “period” at the end of the middle initial. If applicable, write out the authors’ departments, institutions, and those institutions’ addresses (in the form of city, state if applicable, and country) separated by commas. States should be abbreviated (i.e. “Tennessee” to “TN”). If you have multiple authors from the same institution, please be consistent in how you write out that institution (as some institutions go by multiple names). Click on the circle associated with the individual author who will be giving the presentation in the list of authors section. Leave extra unused author fields blank. For the body of the abstract, it is best to copy and paste the text from word processing program into the form. Please do not include citations, tables, figures, or any other HTML codes in the abstract body. The abstract body is limited to 3,000 characters with spaces. The HTML tags will also count toward your total character count. Anything over this character limit will be cut off at the bottom of the form. 3,000 characters allows for approximately 400 words.
